Midori is among the winners of the 6th edition of Open-F@b Call4Ideas 2019, the international contest first launched in 2014 by BNP Paribas Cardif, one of the top ten insurance companies in Italy, in collaboration with InsuranceUp.it.

Yesterday's awards event, held in Milan at the Feltrinelli Foundation, included speeches by Isabella Fumagalli, Head of Territory for Insurance in Italy at BNP Paribas Cardif, Andrea Rangone, CEO of Digital360, and contributions from leading companies such as the one led by Roberto Ascione, CEO of Healthware Group. The event ended with the awarding of the winning projects by Isabella Fumagalli, Head of Territory for Insurance in Italy of BNP Paribas Cardif, Andrea Veltri, Deputy CEO Digital Transformation of BNP Paribas Cardif and Giovanni Iozzia, Director, EconomyUp and InsuranceUp.

After an engaging Challenge that saw the 12 finalists compete with their projects on the theme of Human Data Science, a jury of experts and the audience in the room voted in real time, via an app, to select the two winning projects. The winning projects stood out for their ability to best interpret the concept of Human Data Science, a multidisciplinary approach that focuses on people in order to understand their needs and ways to meet them. The winning start-ups will now be supported by the BNP Paribas Cardif R&D team, which will follow them in the development and realisation of their project, taking into account the needs of the market and of the Company.

NED is the "home black box". Through the intelligence of its AI brain, it is able to obtain data on the energy consumption of household appliances, their state of health and much more, inaccessible until now. The analysis of this data, and the digital services connected to it, allow NED users to be aware of how they use energy at home and to increase their energy-saving culture through regular feedback and positive encouragement. Sustainability is a value and should be pursued with a data-driven approach.
