Jojob, the Italian service that offers companies to organize carpools for their employees, has chosen to become a benefit company.
Benefit societies, which were also introduced in Italy in 2016, aim to bring a benefit in the communities in which they operate, with a positive impact on society and the environment. Whoever manages a benefit company, therefore, evaluates both the profit, but also the qualitative and quantitative performance of social importance, which are declared by the company.
Ever since its foundation, the positive impact of Jojob's mission has been evident. The promotion of a more sustainable mobility model, encouraging and facilitating carpooling between employees of member companies and thus contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions. The company's choice to become a benefit society perfectly reflects its intentions to promote an activity that does not pursue economic results alone, but contributes to making society better, as also expressed by Gerard Albertengo, CEO of the company.
"Choosing to become a benefit company was for us the crowning achievement of a corporate mission that is first of all aimed at society", commented Albertengo: "we want our service to reach more and more companies because we are convinced that promoting carpooling and sustainable mobility starting from the home-work route is a simple yet effective solution to reduce the cars on the road and therefore consumption and pollution."
