Keplera, a legal tech start-up that simplifies the creation and management of legal documents, has closed a €770,000 investment round underwritten by the Magic Mind accelerator, participated in by Zest and Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, OpenT - the 50/50 joint venture of Tinexta and Zest - and Frontech, the accelerator for frontier technologies, set up on the initiative of CDP Venture Capital together with co-investors GELLIFY and Cariplo Factory, as well as institutional partner Fondazione Sardegna.

The business project

Keplera has developed LexHero, an all-in-one solution to manage legal documents more efficiently and securely. LexHero integrates AI-based features, such as an intelligent editor, which facilitates the creation, storage, sharing and signing of documents. The software enables end-to-end encryption for secure document management, which is critical for companies handling sensitive information. In addition, LexHero also includes an electronic digital signature solution with dynamic password or SPID, making it an effective tool for companies of all sizes and industries.

In 2025, the year of its entry into incubation in I3P after a period in pre-incubation, Keplera is experiencing significant development, thanks to steadily growing revenues and ongoing collaborations with major players such as Infocert, OpenDotCom and ENEA. In addition, the company has also started activities in the corporate world with companies such as Edison, Banca Popolare dell'Emilia-Romagna and the Intesa Sanpaolo group.

Founded with a mission to innovate legal services, the startup operates in an industry, legal tech, that globally was worth $26.70 billion in 2023 and is expected to reach $55.00 billion by 2029, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.80 percent during the 2024-2029 period.

We are very pleased with the innovations we are making in the legal sector, and the newly completed round will enable us to sustain healthy if rapid growth by continuing to invest in technology and the development of domestic and international markets,” said Manfredi Domina, CEO of Keplera. “In addition, working with leading partners gives us the opportunity to constantly improve and open up new market prospects. Finally, we are very happy with the contribution made in our territory, Sicily, offering impact and opportunities thanks to strong and constant relationships with Italian and foreign realities.

The investors' trust

Artificial intelligence is redefining the future of the legal industry, radically transforming the way law firms and consulting firms operate. Keplera perfectly embodies our vision on AI: a strategic ally that optimizes document management, accelerates processes and empowers the work of professionals, creating an ecosystem where efficiency and innovation go hand in hand,” commented Gabriele Ronchini, CEO of Zest Investments and Vice Chairman of OpenT's Investment Committee.

Keplera's recent funding round confirms the strategic value of AI in the legal sector,” said Valerio Zappalà, Group Chief M&A and Integration of Tinexta and Managing Director of OpenT. “Through OpenT, the Tinexta Group supports innovative solutions that optimize processes, improve efficiency and enhance the work of professionals. Keplera represents a concrete example of how artificial intelligence can revolutionize document management and consulting, in line with our vision of an increasingly advanced digital future.

The investment in Keplera is particularly satisfying for us,” said Stefano Molino, Head of CDP Venture Capital's Accelerators Fund. “We strongly believe in the project of this team, which through artificial intelligence aims to make efficient a complex sector such as the legal one, seemingly detached from technological innovations. This kind of entrepreneurial project reflects exactly the target audience we want to intercept with Frontech. We are convinced that technology and AI can be employed in all productive sectors and that through Keplera's innovations it can improve the work of thousands of professionals.
