The University "Magna Graecia" of Catanzaro, Italy, and I3P, the Innovative Companies Incubator of Politecnico di Torino, announced the start of a strategic collaboration within the Contamination Lab (CLab) project.
This new partnership represents an important opportunity to promote innovation, interdisciplinary contamination and youth entrepreneurship, offering CLab participants tools and resources to transform innovative ideas into concrete projects.
The project
Starting from the 2023-2024 academic year, the "Magna Graecia" University of Catanzaro, through the Magna Graecia Contamination Lab initiative, has offered 50 young people the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial ideas through training courses aimed at acquiring managerial, organizational and marketing skills.
The program is divided into different phases. After the Scouting phase, during which young start-uppers shared experiences and projects with current participants, and the Academy phase, in which, in a transversal manner, the University professors transferred important skills in the field of Business Economics, Business Organization, Corporate Finance and Digital Marketing to the participants, the project has now entered the Tutorship phase.
The role of I3P
This crucial phase requires the involvement of an excellent partner, and the choice of I3P is not accidental. Founded in 1999, I3P is the main Italian university incubator, publicly recognized as a “Certified Incubator of Innovative Start-ups”, and one of the largest incubators at European level. Its experience and its record of successes, which include over 52 million euros raised in funding by its start-up network in 2023 alone, more than 900 ideas accepted and 23 start-ups incubated in the last year, make it the ideal partner to support the CLab and guide young entrepreneurs along their path.
The Turinese incubator has received numerous international awards, including the title of “Best Public Incubator in the World” in 2019-2020 according to the UBI Global ranking. To date, with over 360 companies born or grown within it and in the year that celebrates its 25 years of activity, I3P confirms itself as one of the reference entities in supporting the birth and development of innovative start-ups.
Thanks to this collaboration, the participants of the Magna Graecia CLab will be able to benefit from the Mentorship of I3P, access networks of investors and industrial partners, and take advantage of the numerous Open Innovation initiatives promoted by the incubator, which favor collaboration between start-ups, SMEs and large companies to accelerate the innovation process.
