How can an idea be turned into a successful start-up? What are the starting points for founding an innovative company? Where can one find fellow adventurers with whom to form a team and work together on a technology-based business project?
These are the most common questions that the Incubator of Politecnico di Torino wants to answer through a new free initiative: I3P Startup Academy, the training course for aspiring entrepreneurs that will take place between June and July 2023. Online applications to participate in the Academy are already open.
The I3P Startup Academy training course is financed and implemented as part of the activities of the NODES - Nord Ovest Digitale E Sostenibile ecosystem and its Spoke 1, dedicated to aerospace and sustainable mobility, of which the incubator I3P is a partner.
The basics of enterprise
The objective of the Academy is to support future start-uppers in their earliest stage, helping them to shape their innovative idea, find other members with whom to compose a team of complementary skills and finally arrive at the creation of a document that describes the business project in a complete and detailed manner: the business plan.
The course, divided into five lessons, will be interactive: each lesson will be based on theory, business games and open discussions with I3P tutors, external mentors, and already established start-ups - especially with ones active in the aerospace and sustainable mobility sectors, supported by Spoke 1 of the NODES ecosystem and its partners. The initiative aims to create a dynamic and fun environment that fosters interaction among participants and with experts in each field, learning the basic concepts inherent to the lean start-up approach, and getting to know new possible Co-Founders for the innovative enterprises of tomorrow.
Who is it aimed at
The I3P Startup Academy initiative is aimed at under-35s living in Piedmont, Italy. The course can be joined both by teams with an innovative business idea and by individuals who do not yet have a project in which to channel their efforts, but who would like to get involved by entering already formed teams or creating new ones.
In fact, one of the main aims of the course is to bring together people with different skills, either to complement existing teams or to create new ones. To succeed in this, participants need to be willing to dialogue and discuss with tutors and mentors as well as with each other, and thus be willing to share their ideas and abilities with other aspiring start-uppers.
The program of the course
The Academy classes will be held - in Italian language - on Saturday mornings, from 9 AM to 1 PM in presence at the I3P headquarters, on five dates in the coming months of 2023: June 10th, June 17th, July 8th, July 15th, July 22nd. Participation in the Academy is free of charge. During the application phase, interested parties are asked to be willing to follow the entire course with perseverance and dedication, in order to get the best out of it for themselves and for the other participants.
Between classes, participants will also be required to carry out preparatory activities to test their own business idea. This means that during the weeks of the Academy, aspiring start-uppers will have to invest their time in applying the concepts, notions and insights gained during the course appointments to their own project.
To apply to participate in the Academy, and thus take the first step towards the creation of a new innovative start-up, you must fill in this online form by Thursday 8th June.
