I3P: €500,000 capital increase for Deed

Startup

The start-up has won over investors with the Get™ wearable device, which exploits bone conduction technology.

Deed, the start-up that aims to revolutionise the world of wearable devices, has obtained its first Seed exceeding €500,000. The capital increase was subscribed by a club deal of private investors and angels, specialised in investments in start-ups and companies operating in the IT and new technology sector.

Founded in 2016, Deed is incubated at I3P, the Innovative Companies Incubator of Politecnico di Torino, and aims to create highly innovative Made In Italy products: the Italian answer to the world of wearable devices. The founder and CEO, Edoardo Parini, after a five-year period spent in Switzerland, decided to return to invest in Italy, and so, together with his twin brother Emiliano, created Deed in Turin, "a choice that was not by chance," he said, "since I3P is one of the most renowned and consolidated incubators on the European scene."

The capital increase operation "has been facilitated by the intervention of the Tuscan financier Mario Bartolini, representing the Corniola family office, an investment and shareholding company that took on the role of anchor investor and promoter of the club deal." The capital increase will allow Deed to launch a crowdfunding campaign on the American platform Kickstarter during 2019 to market their Get™ on the national and international market.

The first Deed-branded product is called Get™. It is a wrist-worn wearable device that is configured as a true smart-bridge, a single device capable of managing one's smartphone by offering the functionalities of a smart-watch and a fitness-tracker: GetTM™, in fact, allows one to track physical activity, movements, sleep cycle and make payments, recognising the identity of the user wearing it, preserving privacy and security.

Furthermore, Get™ is able to provide a totally immersive user experience, exploiting bone conduction technology: just bring your finger close to your ear to listen to content, respond to notifications or dictate instructions to different voice assistants (Siri, Alexa, Google), saying goodbye to earphones, speakers and even displays.

With Get™, in fact, no pixels are needed to access the desired applications, since thanks to a special feature you can customise a set of gestures recognised by the device, which will allow you to answer or reject calls, send or read messages and everything else.

Deed has invested heavily in design and ergonomics, making Get™ seamless, lightweight and water-resistant. In fact, Get™ is made of several layers of fabric laminated together in an innovative, clean and eco-friendly bonding process, all Made in Italy.
