As part of the new project of the “Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti - Opificio digitale della cultura” (House of Emerging Technologies - Digital Culture Factory), the City of Genoa has opened the “CALL TECH-UP”.

The call aims to select, at the Italian national level, innovative start-ups and SMEs (including innovative SMEs) which develop experimental development and technology transfer projects within the cultural and creative industry, using 5G and one or more of the emerging technologies: Blockchain, Artificial and/or Generative Intelligence, Data Analytics, Augmented, Virtual and Immersive Reality, Internet of Things and quantum technologies, the use of which is subject to the availability of 5G ultra-fast mobile networks and the development of 6G next-generation mobile networks.

Specifically, through the provision of grants and a series of useful services provided by the many partners of excellence of CTE Genova, the City of Genoa intends to accelerate and catalyze new market opportunities for companies in the cultural and creative supply chain that can develop and provide Made in Italy solutions, in terms of services, technologies and products enabled by 5G/6G infrastructures, in order to make the conservation and maintenance activities of the museums of the City more efficient, to analyze and predict visitor behavior and flows, and to ensure the safety and accessibility of cultural venues.

The project can boast of numerous supporting technology partners, including:

In addition, the City of Genoa will provide the winning start-ups and SMEs with the following: training, mentorship and access to emerging technologies from CTE Genova partners, as well as incubation with a workstation equipped with WiFi and 5G network at the new 'House of Emerging Technologies - Digital Culture Factory' recently opened at the former train station in Genoa Pra', regenerated as a hub for the development of innovative skills, start-ups and technology transfer.
