Many start-up ideas were presented at the BioInItaly Investment Forum & Intesa Sanpaolo StartUp, an event organised by Assobiotec (a national association for the development of biotechnology, part of Federchimica), Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center and Cluster National Green Chemistry Spring.
From "lab-grown meat" with no animal breeding to new organoid models for cancer treatment, from skin produced from agro-industrial waste and mushrooms to new contrast agents that make magnetic resonance imaging better and safer.
Since the first edition in 2008 to date, the initiative has seen more than €54 million invested in 24 innovative start-ups. The project has also selected and trained more than 140 finalist start-ups in recent years, bringing them into contact with 1,800 companies, investors and players in the ecosystem.
Among the award-winning start-ups in the Life Sciences, health biotech and medical device sectors was SynDiag, which received the Lca - Stifel - Goodwin Award.
