The event aims to foster a vibrant debate among public authorities, research, and industry on the practical applications of 5-to-6G emerging technologies for urban innovation, particularly focusing on the European concept of "CitiVerse". This virtual ecosystem is envisioned as a series of interconnected distributed virtual worlds representing physical cities, offering a wide range of virtual goods/services and environments to citizens.
"5G towards 6G for CitiVerse" will feature keynote speeches, round table discussions, demo showcases, and B2B activities: about 30 speakers, 5 network corners, 20 B2B desks and 20 live demos are scheduled in the programme. The event will explore the transformative potential of 5G/6G technologies across various sectors, including:
- Smart and sustainable mobility
- Safety and security
- Entertainment, Culture, and Tourism
- City Planning towards Climate Neutral Cities
The event is organized by the City of Turin and CTE Next, the House of Emerging Technologies of Torino, in collaboration with the Turin Chamber of Commerce and the Italian Technology Cluster for Smart Communities. Local support is provided by OGR Torino, with international backing from organizations such as 6G Smart Networks and Services Industry Association (6G-IA), European Network of Living Labs - ENoLL, Enterprise Europe Network, and EIT Mobility.
A side event, focused on Partnerships for Horizon Europe (P4HEU), is also being organized for June 20th and 21st, 2024. This specific part is a European event organised by the Italian Technology Cluster for Smart Communities together with around 12 European clusters, focused on supporting ideas for proposals on specific Horizon Europe topics for the next forthcoming calls. The companies can apply to pitch their ideas and competences and assess potential collaborations with other international partners.
